Gog and Magog

G is for Gog and Magog

Gog and Magog, known as Yajuj and Majuj in Arabic, are malicious beings whose appearance will signal the end of the world. According to Islamic tradition, because Gog and Magog were terrorizing people, Dhu al-Qarnayn built an iron barrier to trap them. One day, God will allow Gog and Magog to escape and wreak havoc. God will then destroy them, and shortly after, everyone living on Earth will die and await resurrection.

Goliath

Goliath, called Jalut in the Quran, commanded a large army ready to fight a small cavalry of believers led by Talut (Saul), the King of Israel. Before heading into battle, Talut’s army prayed to God that He would guide them to victory. By God’s grace, the smaller cavalry defeated the larger army, and Golitah was slain by Daud (David), one of the prophets in Islam.
