Ameena Jandali’s organization Islamic Networks Group works to fight the harassment, stereotypes, and bullying she experienced growing up. After seeing these behaviors continuing in her children’s classrooms post 9/11, ING began developing and presenting cultural competency trainings in hundreds of schools, churches, universities, and for other groups. For many listeners, Jandali’s workshops and seminars mark the first time they have learned about Islam from a Muslim perspective. Today, ING continues to host seminars, facilitates youth groups, and provides curriculum for educators across the nation on Islamic history, culture, and the impacts of Islamophobia.
