Ahlam Said is a Yemeni-American has spent her career advocating for Muslim communities using her grassroots organizing, communication, and media production skills. She has been a vocal advocate for community mobilization to raise awareness of the US’s involvement in Yemen, the Arab Spring, and other political campaigns. One of the most well-known ways Said has done this is through her organization Bodega Supper Club. The Club hosts evenings of Yemeni cuisine, bringing community together to celebrate Yemeni immigrant communities. Besides founding Bodega Supper Club, Said has worked for a variety of non-profits working towards intersectional social justice such as the foremost immigrant youth-led organization in the US United We Dream, and the Inner-City Muslim Action Network.
