Melody Moezzi is an Iranian-American writer and attorney. She writes and speaks about religion, public health, politics, and culture. Moezzi has written for the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, Parabola, The Huffington Post, NPR, and Ms. Magazine, among others. She was a columnist for Muslim Girl Magazine and speaks openly about having bipolar disorder. Moezzi holds degrees from Wesleyan University, Emory University School of Law, and Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health. Moezzi’s memoir, Haldol and Hyacinths, tells the moving story of a woman who refused to become torn across cultural and social lines. Moezzi reports from the front lines of the space between sickness and sanity, and the Midwest and the Middle East, and is a tribute to the healing power of hope, humor, and acceptance.
