In 2005 — At WISE’s launch in NYC,  Khan debuted a theater production entitled 7 Women – 7 Heavens, which juxtaposed the stories of seven contemporary women and their personal struggles with faith and community. The social taboos highlighted in the play- women leadership, forced marriage and domestic violence- were inspired by actual stories of Muslim women in the US and around the world.
