The origin of evil begins with Satan, known as Shaytan in Arabic. When God made Adam from clay, he asked all his angels to bow down to him, which they did, except for Iblis (Satan) who refused because he thought Adam was made from mud and thus inferior to him. From that day on, Satan swore that he would convince human to disobey God and entice them to commit evil/sinful acts.
