Transforming the National Conversation
about Islam in America

In the aftermath of 9/11, MLT convened over 125 young, American Muslims in New York for the first Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow conference. Seeking to develop concrete strategies for engaging with the larger American public and reverse trends of alienation, the forum facilitated important discussions on fostering an American-‐Muslim identity and improving the negative perceptions of Islam in the United States. The MLT program was inaugurated as a pioneer in discovering solutions to some of the greatest challenges facing Muslims today.
