Country: United States
About
Despite being born into a wealthy family, Gertrude Behanna felt that there was something lacking in her life. She turned to both drugs and alcohol and behaved even attempted suicide at one point in her life.
Her life changed one night when she had dinner with a Christian couple. Gertrude drank too much and surprised the couple by telling them inappropriate stories about her life. The family asked her why she did not turn to God for her troubles. Gertrude was deeply touched, and began to realize that there was someone to turn to who could aid her.
After that dinner, Gertrude started practicing Christianity and worked to transform her life. She began praying and helping others by providing homeless women space at her place to stay and giving away a large portion of her wealth. Her adoption of Christianity allowed her to find a new meaning in life.
