I am very happy that this old and inhuman cultural practice is identified for what it is; an old CULTURAL practice that is not related to the edicts and teachings of Islam. I am very happy at the process in which the Shura Council followed in order to arrive at their conclusion. The Final Fatwa addresses the issue comprehensively; its religious; theological; societal and physical/medical implications;
The decision is totally justified from all aspects.
We Salute WISE Shura Council for applying due diligence in arriving at their latest decision and statement regarding FGC. It is about time that this inhumane practice is halted everywhere.
