Dr. Sarwat Malik, M.D, is Vice Chair & founding member of the Muslim Women’s Fund. She serves on the advisory board of CISD at Nazareth College, Pittsford NY. She has strong belief that Faith and spirituality provides a unique base from which to build a sustainable movement for social change for world peace. She supports educational empowerment & economic independence of Muslim women. She supports gender justice and women centric contemporary scholarship for reinterpretation of the holy text to counter interpretations and cultural practices which are oppressive to Muslim women. She has a special interest in Neurolinguistic programming, integrative therapy and holistic approach in health care

She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, member of Monroe Country Medical Society and NY State Medical Society, life member of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America, American Medical Women Association and Islamic Medical Association of North America. She was the founding President of Medical Women’s Association of Rochester, NY. She was the vice president of the board of the Islamic Center of Rochester and Pakistani American association of Rochester, NY. She was the founding president of Fatima Jinnah Medical college north Alumni association and has served in leadership positions locally and nationally in the Medical and community boards.

She received Medical Medal of honor for her services to the indigenous community of Rochester, NY and was honored as “woman of the year”, by Women’s Forum at the Islamic Center of Rochester, NY.
