BAOBAB for Women’s Human Rights focuses on women’s legal rights in Nigeria. The organization aims ‘to promote women’s human rights principally via improving knowledge, exercise and development of rights under religious laws, customary laws and statutory laws.’

BAOBAB’s activities include outreach through public awareness, and trainings; social and legislative advocacy; publishing; education initiatives; capacity building for other women’s groups and NGOs through trainings and skills building; networking in Nigeria, Africa and worldwide; documenting legal issues that affect women; and participating in academic discussions regarding women’s rights, and acting as a research center for women’s rights in law.
