AdvocacyNigeria was established in 2005 as a movement to improve the reproductive health of all Nigerians. It is an alliance of concerned Nigerians with common goal to work together to lower the excessively high maternal and infant mortality and morbidity rates that continue to plague the country. The alliance includes representatives from federal and state government offices, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and religious organizations, parliamentarians, academics and health service providers. Nigeria has one of the world’s highest maternal mortality rates with an estimated eight hundred (800) women dying out of every one hundred thousand (100,000) giving birth.
