Strengthens Muslim Women,
Benefits Families and Communities,
Builds Bridges to Peace.
"The rights of women are sacred. See that women are maintained in the rights assigned to them."
~ Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessing Upon Him
What is Our Challenge?
There are 600 million Muslim women in the world – a tenth of humanity – and many are marginalized. Yet there is not a single foundation focused solely on their development. The mission of the Muslim Women’s Fund (MWF) is to enable women to claim their rights in Islam, become educated and economically empowered.
How Does MWF Work?
MWF’s invests in strategic, replicable, innovative grass-roots projects and movements (in lieu of NGO’s) with transformational impact in countries with Muslim populations. It supports scalable NGO’s and social entrepreneurs working at the nexus between economic empowerment and progressive religious and secular education.

What is MWF’s vision and impact?
Muslim women face enormous challenges but also have extraordinary opportunities to change their societies. MWF’s vision is to support women in becoming fully, empowered participants, stakeholders and change agents in their societies.
When women are strong, so are their families, communities, and countries. Empowered women enjoy dignity and economic security, and create peace as they engage with both their Muslim and non-Muslim neighbors.
Grant Applications
Thank you for your interest. Our first priority is to build a community of donors to support our mission and the work of the many vital NGOs serving Muslim women and girls. We are embarking on an aggressive fundraising campaign. Once we have met our goal, we will issue a Request for Proposals and will accept applications for funds at that time. Please visit http://rockpa.org/special_programs/muslim-womens-fund in the future for updates on our progress!
